September Favorites 2014

Although I am sad to see September go, I am such a huge fan of October that I am okay with it! September was a great month and I found lots of awesome new products that I want to share with you guys! Last month, I stuck to just low carb food favorites but I thought why not show you guys everything I loved all month long just in case you are in the market for any of these items! So, without further ado, here are some of the products that help make my September fantastic.

Aloe Vera Juice: I have to warn you, this month was all about digestive help for me. Aloe me to explain how awesome this stuff is! It helps improve digestion while soothing muscle and joint aches. It almost sounds too good to be true, I know, but it is also low carb! With only 1 gram net carbs, this stuff packs a lot of minerals and health benefits for you carb “bucks”. I have been adding an ounce or two to my morning smoothies and I think it has been helping my digestion throughout the day.

Apple Cider Vinegar: This stuff has a million uses from toner to cleaning to digestive health! I have been using raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar before meals to help start my digestion. I take a shot of about 1-2 teaspoons with a big glass of water and the results are ex-cider-ing.

Bubbies Sauerkraut: An amazing fermented snack is sauerkraut. Fermented foods help to regulate digestion and to make your gut flora thrive! I have been trying to eat a little bit of a fermented food everyday and all month long I have been loving this sauerkraut. Just make sure to get sauerkraut that is only cabbage, salt and water. You do not want any added sugars!

sourkrautExtra Thick Headbands: These extra wide headbands by Lululemon are incredible because they do not slip and slide! They are also super stretchy and loose so you won’t end up with a headache post-workout. I am not a huge Lululemon fan most of the time but these headbands are life savers.

Zoot Wetsuit: If you are in the market for a wetsuit that won’t break the bank but is amazing on multiple levels, check out the 1.0 from Zoot. I used it for a 900 meter open water swim across the Ohio River in September and was beyond impressed by it. If you are a triathlete or someone who is just interested in open water swimming, you have to give this one a try!

Leg Warmers: The latter half of September brought some cooler weather so I pulled out my trusty leg warmers and have been loving them. They make any outfit super cute and add a little something, especially to workout clothes.

Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease: Garnier did a fabulous job with this product. It is very similar to the Orbe Texture Spray but about a tenth of the price. If you want textured, beachy hair, give this hybrid of hairspray and dry shampoo a try!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara: I love a good, separating mascara and Tarte does it naturally! If I am putting something in or near my eye, I would rather it be free of yucky chemicals. For this reason, I love Tarte make-up. But, the mascara goes beyond being natural. Trust me, it makes your lashes so huge they look anything but!

Maybelline Matte Lipstick in 660: “Touch Of Spice” is the perfect fall mauve lip color! The color of this lipstick is not quite a nude but not quite a mauve. The texture is perfect. Creamy but still matte. I am totally in love with this bargain gem!
