November proved to be an awesome month for discoveries all over the board! I have a rundown of everything from low carb snacks to beauty to health. I feel like starting my Christmas shopping was the culprit in all of my exciting finds this month.
1. Trader Joe’s Fresh Goat Cheese Medallions
Goat cheese is an excellent addition to a low carb diet. It has a great protein to fat ratio and does not add any carbs to your day! However, I find when I purchase it in logs, it dries up and get all crusty before I use all of it. This individually wrapped medallions completely solve that problem for you. I also love that they’re individually wrapped which allows you to know exactly what your eating and take it along with you in your purse or lunch box!
2. Mascarpone Cheese
This high fat cheese also has zero grams of carbs per serving and is incredibly creamy and delicious. This stuff has curbed my sweet tooth. I take a tablespoon (one serving) and mix it with a drop of stevia extract and it taste just like a creamy frosting. It makes an incredible snack and I have been addicted to it all month long.
3. Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese
Obviously, November was the month of cheese for me. I was eating a lot of cottage cheese but it packs atleast 4 grams of carbs per serving! So, I started eating whole milk ricotta instead and it is so yummy. I eat mine with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and it tastes like a gourmet dessert. A serving contains only 1 gram of carbs and it is quite satisfying. I am sure this is sold anywhere, I just get mine at Trader Joe’s!
I feel that finding a YouTube “beauty guru” who targets the more mature crowd is a tough task. Most are young, teenage girls. However, Tati from Glam Life Guru is amazing and makes the most wonderful makeup recommendations. I was on the hunt for a great matte eye shadow palette and, after listening to her review on this guy, went out and got it. I have used it every single day since. The shadows are blendable and all are very wearable. I use them to compliment my more shimmery shades or on their on for a more natural look. Thank you, Tati, for the perfect recommendation!
For my fellow blondes: this stuff is a complete life savor! In between coloring, my hair tends to get brassy, almost orange in shade. I love a white blonde and using this CC creme in between coloring has given that to me! I could not be more impressed with this product. You simply wet your hair and coat it with this purple shaded creme, allow it to sit for about ten minutes and shower as normal. Your blonde will be as bright as the day you came home from the salon.
This has become my new go-to product for volume and body. I use it as a root booster replacement and it has given my hair the most amazing thickness without the crunchiness of a hair spray or moose. Plus, it smells insanely good.
7. Epsom Salt
If you find yourself suffering from muscle soreness after a workout or run, you must try Epsom salt baths. I take them 2-4 times per week and the change it has made in the duration of my muscle soreness is noticeable. I especially love taking a long soak in about 2 cups of Epsom salt in a tub of warm water the day after a heavy lift. If you run, lift weights, or simply have a taxing job and have yet to give this stuff a try, you will thank me later!
The particular scarf I reference in this post is by Michael Kors. However, I have found some that are almost identical on for about a fifth of the price, here! I find this scarf to be incredibly flattering and versatile. Because it is an infinity scarf, it is easy to throw on and be out the door. It matches almost any outfit and can add a touch of glam to an otherwise simple ensemble. I have worn mine a handful of times this month and cannot get enough of it. It would make the perfect gift for any girl on your Christmas list this year.
That is all for my favorites this month! Have you discovered any new, exciting snacks or beauty products I should know about?
