Bulletproof coffee is all the rage in the Paleo community. It has also made its way into the low carb and keto groups as well. Essentially, it is coffee with good fats blended in. Most people use MCT oils and grass fed butter. Its great stuff. I wanted to create something similar with the creamy dessert feel of a Starbucks Frappuccino that everyone could enjoy, including vegans. I combined the idea of bulletproof coffee with a Starbucks Frappuccino and the result was amazing, if I do say so myself. I cannot get enough of this refreshing, filling, and energizing drink. It is the total package. It also happens to be brew-tiful.
What you will need: Makes 1 serving
1/2 cup coffee concentrate (You can use home brewed espresso for this as well, I just find the concentrate gives more of that “coffee” flavor.)
1 tablespoon coconut cream or full fat coconut milk
1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 cup milk of your choice (I stuck with the coconut cream and used coconut milk but any milk will do.)
1 cup ice
1 teaspoon vanilla stevia drops OR 1/8 teaspoon stevia extract + 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: 99% cocoa dark chocolate
Put all ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. I ran my Vitamix blender on the “smoothie” setting and it came out perfectly! Pour into your favorite glass or mug and garnish with dark chocolate. You may never set foot in a Starbucks again, or have anything else for breakfast!
